Telstra: Wholesale Launches New Unified Access Network Configuration

Telstra has reconfigured its network, offering wholesale customers the ability to now connect to a total of 110,000 business premises, with no additional infrastructure required.

The release of the new Unified Access capability means that Ethernet products are now available on most NTUs (Network Termination Units) managed on Telstra’s fiber network. For Ethernet access, more than 50,000 additional devices are already in place. For Internet wholesale businesses, over 30,000 additional devices are now in place.

Glenn Osborne, Sales and Wholesale Segment Director of Telstra Wholesale, said: “This new network configuration that we are calling Unified Access unlocks the potential of our assets by extending access to the entire network. Telstra, making it easier and more profitable for wholesale customers. to turn on more end customers, quickly and often without up-front costs. ”

“Telstra Wholesale is excited to serve as many businesses as possible with fiber and now with 110,000 business addresses connected over Telstra’s fiber network, this opportunity is greater than ever for our customers.

“We know that end-user connection speed is a major concern for service providers, so it is good for them to know that there is a provider that has built it and is ready to connect without delay,” said Mr. Osborne.

The new capability also allows customers to move their services from one wholesale product to another more seamlessly than ever.

“If a customer wants another public Internet solution – for example, for diversity of cloud access applications – we can now offer wholesale commercial Internet on the same device as Ethernet access,” said Mr. Osborne.

“At Telstra Wholesale, we are extremely proud to offer this inter-Telstra network reconfiguration program which instantly allows our wholesale customers to have more sites connected.

Telstra customers can also benefit from increased efficiency and the opportunity to deliver services faster, to more locations, reducing the likelihood of commercial work and the fee-for-service costs required for truck rollover. and additional wiring.

The qualification of new sites in the WAN is available today in Telstra Wholesale’s listing tools for wholesale enterprise Internet and Ethernet access products.
